Congratulations to our Juniors

Some congratulations are in order for some of our Junior players.

Andy Brisdon had an amazing week at Wimbledon after making it through qualifying rounds early in the year making it to the International Final of the Road to Wimbledon 2019.
Also, Andy is on his way from Monday 19th August to compete in the Junior National Tennis Championships at Nottingham a Grade 1 event for the best 32 players in the country at U14 level.

Also, Sam Chadwick competed in our Northern Grade 3 tournament last week winning the Boys U12 event and runner up of the Boys U14 event. And Sam is competing in the Junior National Tennis Championships at Bournemouth in the Boys U12 – we wish him well!!

Finally,  Ben Davies competed in The Northern Grade 3 tournament winning the men’s event 2019.

The Manchester Trophy 10th – 16th June

The Manchester Trophy returns to The Northern 10th -16th June and is one of the biggest pre-Wimbledon ladies’ tennis tournaments.

As well as some amazing ladies’ tennis to watch, the event will feature Clarins on site, food by Thyme Out, Pimms stations around the courts and flower arrangements by Didsbury in Bloom.

Former British number 1 & Wimbledon mixed doubles champion, Heather Watson heads up the list of British players, whilst The Northern’s own Naomi Broady and Fed Cup player Katy Dunne have been confirmed as two of the main draw wild cards.

Wimbledon singles finalist in 2013 and former world number 12, Sabine Lisicki will be coming to compete in qualifying, with Zarina Diyas, the 2017 Manchester Trophy champion and Kazakhstan Fed Cup player being one of three players ranked inside the world top 100.

This event is a must for all tennis fans. We hope to see you there.

Easter Summer Camps

Easter Summer Camps.

Is your kid a racquet fanatic?
Well, if so, The Northern is the place for them this Easter. We have two excellent Easter camps for young Tennis and Squash players.

First up, we have our Tennis Junior camp taking place w/c Monday 8th – Friday 12th of April and also on Monday 15th – Thursday 18th of April. Designed for children 8 years up to 16 years, for all abilities with lunch and soft drink included. Starting at £31 a day.

If you are more of a Squash fan, we have a 3-day camp, taking place Tuesday 9th – Thursday 11th of April. It will be coach by Annette Pilling, a former Junior England Squash Coach. There are only 12 spaces available so to secure your place, please book through our reception, at a cost of £30 per day for members, £35 for non-members.
