Our Team

The Northern is constituted as a not for profit sports club with limited liability.

Members of the club, are voted onto the Executive Committee, and work as volunteers, meeting regularly throughout the year.  Minutes of meetings held are displayed on the club notice board.

Powers are delegated to subcommittees, management and employees, who run the day-to-day operations at the club.


The Northern will be acknowledged as the leading members' rackets and fitness club in the North, developing sporting opportunities and achieving continuous growth in sports participation for club members, local residents and the wider community

An annual meeting is held each March to review the progress in the previous 12 months, plans for future development and to set the subscription fees for the following 12 months.

In August 2017, Jamie White was appointed CEO of the Northern.  Jamie will be responsible for supervising the day to day running of the club, its financial management and to build on the club's heritage and brand going forwards.

Jamie was a solicitor in Manchester for 23 years before retiring from private practice last year. He is a keen rackets player and sportsman and is a member of MTRC, MCC and North Berwick West Links.
